Very sharp, Tsumeb deep blue prisms of azurite to 3 cm scattered and in parallel growth, on a matrix that is sprinkled with malachite. Azurites (especially from Tsumeb), are rather difficult to photograph.  I assure you that the quality and luster of the crystals as well as the definition and condition of this specimen is exceptional.

Azurite with Malachite

Back in 2013, I was fortunate enough to be around when the “floaters” pocket (the one that was cemented shut late 2013) was being offered and I got to look at about 400 specimens from that pocket. In my opinion this was one of the top 10 pieces there. Most of the specimens had microscopic blemishes, but some had the electric color, superb luster and minor malachite. This is one of those with the color, luster and the form. Choice!

A new find just before the Tucson Show at a mine that had never really been worked for specimens. These new barites have the most incredible luster and tremendously sharp chiseled crystals to 2.4 cm (rare in Mexico where the habit tends to be tabular). They are completely transparent and run from a blue grey to yellow grey pastel colors. This one is kind of in-between. They make wonderful display specimens and were written up briefly in the newest Min. Rec. issue. Very difficult to get the color in the photo unfortunately.

A new find just before the Tucson Show at a mine that had never really been worked for specimens. These new barites have the most incredible luster and tremendously sharp chiseled crystals to 2.3 cm (rare in Mexico where the habit tends to be tabular). They are completely transparent and run from a blue grey to yellow grey pastel colors. This one is yellowish grey. They make wonderful display specimens and were written up briefly in the newest Min. Rec. issue. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to get the color accurately in the photo. To my knowledge, no more have been found.
