A plate of super lustrous deep blue crystals of azurite 2 cm well exposed on a nicely contrasting matrix. Even though there is a lot of good Milpillas azurites on the market, few are in perfect condition (like this one) and on the white matrix that shows off the crystals brilliantly.

A spectacular group of very lustrous, deep blue azurite crystals with minor malachite. This pocket was 15 by 10 meters (but very narrow) and the specimens were attached to the wall by fibrous malachite, that’s why they resemble “floaters”. The mine owners cemented the pocket entrance with three trucks of concrete, but some had been collected prior to that and I was very lucky (being near the source) to have my pick of the best miniatures and TNS. Nothing of any significance has been found since the summer of 2013. As commonly seen with azurite, the photos do not  do the specimens justice.
