Scheelite on Quartz

ID: 6208

Several well formed pseudo-octahedrons of scheelite with exceptional luster and a deep gemmy orange color sit on a matrix of clear quartz crystals. The largest scheelite is 4 cm end to end and sits near the top of the specimen. A stunning example of scheelite from Pakistan, yes Pakistan! One of the best and most aesthetic pieces I have seen from this locality!

Wonderful euhedral crystals of the rare and ordered (CaMn) intermediate member of the Pectolite-Serandite. Brought to light in 2013, they were first thought to be bustamite, then erroneously labeled a new mineral (Marshallsussmanite), it was all corrected in 2018. Exceptional example of the mineral.

Smithsonite (Ex Chris Amo Coll.)

ID: 6393

Exceptional rhombohedral crystals of smithsonite with deep yellow centers and zoned lighter edges. The temptation is to label it cadmium, but I don’t believe that it is accurate since most Tsumeb smithsonites labeled “cadmium” are pure guesses by collectors and dealers. Wonderful color, zoning and luster on this one, not to mention good sized and well defined crystals.
