Smithsonite (Ex Chris Amo Coll.)

Exceptional rhombohedral crystals of smithsonite with deep yellow centers and zoned lighter edges. The temptation is to label it cadmium, but I don’t believe that it is accurate since most Tsumeb smithsonites labeled “cadmium” are pure guesses by collectors and dealers. Wonderful color, zoning and luster on this one, not to mention good sized and well defined crystals.

Fluorite with Aragonite

Light bluish purple, gemmy cubes of fluorite are sprinkled with off white botryoidal aggregates of aragonite. No telling when these were mined, but they came on the market in 2014.

Lustrous and non lustrous crystals of galena of varying habits, including spinel law twins in the center of the specimen, striated cubes and intergrown crude octahedrons. I noticed a few quartz crystals and maybe even some tennantite.

Pyrite on Calcite

Brassy golden dodecahedrons of pyrite that appear to have layers on the surface of the crystals. These sit on a matrix of clear calcite prisms. Wonderful to find a Chinese pyrite with no damage.

Wulfenite

Amber colored, translucent and lustrous platy crystals of wulfenite aesthetically poised at the tip of a rusty colored calcite matrix. Some of the crystals have micro chipping that is visible with magnification, but they are very sharp none the less. Largest crystal is 1.5 cm across. Very attractive specimen.
