Normally not a display mineral from the Poudrette quarry, this smoky quartz is extremely aesthetic, gemmy and displays well. It’s associated with tan siderite rhombs, white albite and tiny pyrite crystals.

Quartz with Tetrahedrite, Pyrite

Very sharp golden scalenohedrons of calcite on a calcite matrix. A former Zn-F(fluorspar)-Pb occurrence/mine located about 8.0 km WNW of Rosiclare (Hardin County) along the Pope County-Hardin County line, on private land. Owned & operated by the Minerva Oil Company (100%), Illinois (1973).  A rather obscure calcite locality. Also credited to the Kentucky Fluorspar Dist.
