Andradite (Ex Amo Coll.) Wessels Mine, Kalahari Manganese Fields, Kuruman, South Africa (7.7x4.5x3 cm)
Another dealer described these andradites as waxy and he hit it right on the button. Coming from a find in the 80's and producing the sharpest, largest and finest andradites found at Wessels, with well defined, red orange crystals crystals over 1 cm in size. Nothing like these has been found again and good Wessels andradites are as rare as good inesites.

Apophyllite on Quartz 2nd Sovietskiy Mine, Dalnegorsk, Primorskiy Krai, Russia (8x6.5x5.5 cm)
I found these in Tucson 2010 and must confess, had not seen them before. A near floater group of quartz crystals that are completely coated by tiny apophyllites, giving the specimen an incredible luster and sparkle. The quartz in some places is an opaque cream color with inclusions of an unkown mineral and is coated by a clear secondary crystal, that in turn is coated by the apophyllites. This is not new material, so where have these been? They are incredible!
